In this passage, we encounter Jesus’ heart before his death and his prayer for the unity of all those who believe and will believe in him. Unity in Jesus is an essential value for the followers of Jesus.

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

In this passage, we find how John and his community live a shared life that is a witness to Jesus and the life between Father and Son. Members of Trinity EM seek to live out a community life in a way that witnesses to the community life of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our life of believers is meant to reflect the life of the Trinity!
1 John 1:1-4
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.
En este pasaje encontramos el corazón de Jesús antes de su muerte y su oración por la unidad de todos los que creen y creerán en él. La unidad en Jesús es un valor esencial para los seguidores de Jesús.

En este pasaje encontramos cómo Juan y su comunidad viven una vida compartida que es testimonio de Jesús y de la vida entre Padre e Hijo. Los miembros de Trinity EM buscan vivir una vida comunitaria de una manera que dé testimonio de la vida comunitaria del Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. ¡Nuestra vida de creyentes debe reflejar la vida de la Trinidad!
1 Juan 1, 1-4

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son*], who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic** and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

** The word “catholic” means universal. All believers who hold the Nicene faith believe in a universal body of believers. Consequently, not all believers understand “catholic” to mean the Roman Catholic Church.

The Nicene Creed has been a source of shared beliefs among followers of Jesus since 325. This includes Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Messianic Jews, and other believers.
